The Jara Greenway is to be used as a tourism, environment, and sports route, for the practice of trekking, walking, nature watching, bicycle tourism, and compatible sport or active tourism activities which do not lead to in forbidden uses, with the characteristics of a leisure natural space.
Individual use will not require any previous authorisation, whereas large groups intending to use the Greenway must notify the Municipality Association with at least ten days’ notice.
Allowed Uses.
- Pedestrians, horses, bicycles, wheelchairs, adapted bicycles and generally any non-motor vehicle which poses no risk to other users due to its size or any other reason (máximum speed 10 km/h).
- Cattle – exclusively that belonging to neighbours previously authorised by the corresponding municipality.
- Duly identified Greenway maintenance and surveillance vehicles, always respecting speed rules and giving priority to the rest of allowed users.
Permissible Uses.
- Sport contests compatible with allowed uses.
- Any leisure activity compatible with allowed uses.
- Exceptionally, previously authorised motor vehicles, always respecting the previously mentioned rules.
Whoever wishes to carry out any of these activities must sent a request in writing to the Municipality Association, detailing their purpose with at least thirty days’ warning before the start date for the activity.
Forbidden Uses.
- It is strictly forbidden to drive along the Greenway in any motor vehicle, motorcycles, cars, tractors, etc.
- Authorised vehicles driving through tunnels with no lights on.
- Unleashed dogs.
- Cattle driving.
- Surpassing the 10 km/h speed limit established for bicycles and authorised vehicles.
- Cattle grazing, as well as use of tunnels as a cattle shelter.
- Dumping of toxic or hazardous waste, solid urban waste, demolition debris, sewage, paper, plastic, etc.
- Vandalism, grafitti, breakage or destruction of signs, rest areas, and premises.
Vehicle Passes.
- Must be requested in the Municipality Association Town Halls.
- Access passes to the Greenway for motor vehicles will be only granted to owners or suppliers who have no other way of accessing their properties, and always following prior authorisation, granted in a temporary or permanent way by the Municipality Association administrative services, following the compulsory previous request and the relevant favourable report by the Town Hall in whose municipality said property is located.
These users must always respect the speed limit and the priority of pedestrians, cyclists, and other allowed users.
